Palmetto Family Medicine:: Physical Therapy

	J. Frank Martin, Jr., M.D. Dr. Martin, Jr. was born in Charleston while his father, Dr. J. Martin, Sr., attended medical school. Dr. Martin, Jr. moved to Columbia with his family in 1961, the year his father opened Palmetto Family Medicine. In 1989, Dr. Martin, Jr. joined his father's practice. Dr. Martin, Jr. attended the University of South Carolina and received a B.S. in math and science and then completed his medical degree at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He is board certified by the American Academy of Family Physicians and has been practicing medicine for the last 20 years. Dr. Martin enjoys Gamecock athletics and will be getting married to Shannon Griffin in 2011.


	Russell E. Ditzler, M.D. Dr. Ditzler is originally from Charlotte, North Carolina but has lived in Columbia since childhood. He attended the University of South Carolina receiving a bachelor's degree in biology and an MSPH in epidemiology. He graduated in 1985 from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Dr. Ditzler has practiced medicine for the past 19 years and has been with Palmetto Family Medicine for the past 15 years. He is board certified by the American Academy of Family Physicians and is board eligible to practice Sleep Medicine. He is a fitness buff who engages in many physical activities to maintain a healthy lifestyle. He and his wife Lauren are enjoying their new son born in October 2009.


	Sarah S. Cottingham, M.D. Dr. Cottingham grew up in Columbia and is the granddaughter of Dr. J. Frank Martin, Sr. and the niece of Dr. J. Frank Martin, Jr. She attended Clemson University and graduated Cum Laude with a bachelor of science in 2001. Dr. Cottingham graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston where she completed her residency in Family Practice in 2009. She was Chief Resident of her class in 2008-2009 and is Board Certified. Sarah enjoys Clemson football, decorating and sewing. Dr. Cottingham and her husband, Dr. Doug Cottingham, are happy to announce the arrival of their first child in July of 2010.


	Jayne A. Koehler, MS, PA-C Jayne grew up in Columbia, SC. She graduated cum laude from Wofford College with a BS in Biology. Jayne earned her Masters Degree in Physician Assistant Studies at the Medical University of South Carolina in August of 2008 where she graduated first in her class. She trained at Palmetto Family Medicine as a PA student and is excited to join the practice. Jayne enjoys spending time with her family, time with her husband and the fine arts.


	Bhadrik Patel MS, PA-C Bhadrik is originally from Gujarat, India but has lived in Virginia for the last seven years. He moved to Columbia, SC in 2010 with his wife, a dentist. Bhadrik has a BS in Statistics and a BS in Health Sciences. He is nationally certified and earned his Masters Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Mountain State University in Beckeley, West Virginia. Bhadrik (Rick) and his wife enjoy outdoor activities, spending time with their family and cooking.
